SHSG SIXTH FORM ADVERT
When I made my SHSG Sixth Form advert, I learned how to properly use a DSLR camera and experiment with lighting, focus and different angles. I used Photoshop to make the photos look more professional. I wanted the advert to show what life at SHSG is like by showing it as fun and full of opportunities which is why I included so many different photos. It represents the school as a positive place where students can be themselves and achieve their goals.
BEAUTY ADVERT
For my beauty advert I chose to use Eilish fragrances. I wanted to make something simple but eye catching for a younger audience. By doing this I included social media elements like @billieeilishfragrances and #EilishEssenence to connect with her fans online and make the advert feel more interactive. I used metallic tones and a clean design to give it a modern, classy feel while linking it to Billie Eilish’s confident style. The advert works because it looks bold and stylish but still feels personal.
BIG ISSUE COVER
I took inspiration from the real Big Issue covers by using a bold masthead, a strong central image and clear cover lines so it looks realistic and professional. I chose Avatar as my main feature because it was one of the biggest films coming out that week, making it relevant and appealing to a wide audience. Avatar also aligns with The Big Issue’s ideology because it explores themes like community, protecting the environment and standing up to powerful forces, which reflect the magazine’s focus on different social issues.
